Werzalit is a high-performance engineered wood composite material, renowned for its exceptional durability, weather resistance, and versatility in both indoor and outdoor applications. Developed through a patented process, Werzalit is made from finely chipped, locally sourced fresh wood-typically a mix of hardwoods and softwoods-which is combined with high-quality synthetic resins and molded under intense heat and pressure. This results in a dense, homogeneous, and dimensionally stable product with a smooth, resilient surface.
Manufacturing and Material Properties
The Werzalit process involves pressing wood chips or fibers with synthetic resins at high temperatures, typically around 160°C, and under significant pressure. This fusion creates an inseparable bond between the wood and resin, forming a composite that is far more robust than standard wood products.
The surface is further refined and permanently bonded to the core, resulting in a product that is highly resistant to mechanical, thermal, and chemical influences. This makes Werzalit panels exceptionally resistant to scratching, staining, swelling, and paint flaking.
The material is also easy to clean, requires minimal maintenance, and is resistant to insects and moisture, making it ideal for high-traffic public spaces, hospitality environments, and outdoor furniture.
